Welcome Carilion Tazewell Community Hospital!

On July 1, 2008 the agreement for Tazewell Community Hospital to join Carilion Clinic became final! Carilion Tazewell Community Hospital (CTCH) is the newest addition to our family of hospitals.

Carilion Tazewell Community Hospital joined Carilion Clinic on July 1, 2008 after an already long and successful affiliation. Our partnership provides a variety of high-quality healthcare services, making inpatient, outpatient, emergency and home healthcare comfortable, personal and accessible close to home. Carilion Tazewell Community Hospital also offers wellness and community education programs and support groups to help promote healthy lifestyles and a healthy community.

Earlier this year, the Board of Tazewell Community Hospital approved a proposal for Carilion Clinic to purchase the hospital. Carilion will make investments into the hospital, including renovations, new equipment and a financial contribution to the Tazewell Community Hospital Foundation as part of the transaction. Virginia’s Attorney General approved the agreement in June, allowing it to be finalized.

Carilion Tazewell Community Hospital is pleased to have formally joined Carilion, says Chris Wearmouth, President and CEO of Carilion Tazewell Community Hospital. “Tazewell Community Hospital and Carilion have been close allies through a management agreement for over 27 years. That’s a longer relationship than any other facility, except Roanoke Memorial Hospital, within the Carilion network. We are very excited to finally call ourselves a part of the Carilion Clinic family of services, and we look forward to the benefits created through this transition.”

Diabetes Support Group

The Diabetes Support Group Meets the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 2pm in the Heritage Hall Conference Room.

Heritage Hall is located adjacent to the Tazewell Community Hospital behind Perry & St. Clair Funeral Home. If needed the 4-County Transit will provide transportation. Contact them directly at 1-888-656-2272.

Tree of Love

Tazewell Community Hospital's Tree of Love is located in our West Wing Reception Area. Shaped as a magnificent oak, the tree features a foundered brass trunk and branches. Each 4" x 7" brass leaf, appropriately engraved, represents a minimum gift of $1,500 to Tazewell Community Hospital's Expansion Fund. Foundation Stones represent gifts of at least $10,500 with the larger stones designated for gifts of at least $30,000.

The Tree of Love was custom designed by Daniel Booten, a talented artist, sculptor and pewtersmith from Richmond, VA.

T.C.H.'s Tree of Love provides the opportunity to honor a friend, a family name, memorialize a loved one or to perpetuate the name of a corporation or fraternal group.
